Program outline:
ASK provides
a) Residential withdrawal management and stabilization services
b) Counselling to individuals and couples, families and groups living in the Kenora area.
c) Early intervention programs for youth
d) Assessment and referral (if appropriate) to inpatient residential programs

This program is specifically intended to assist individuals who either are experiencing difficulty with either substances (such as alcohol and drugs) or behaviours (such as gambling) which are impacting on their abilities to function to their potential or family members of such individuals.

Individuals may be referred to any of the three services as self-referrals or by any other third party (family, friend, employer, doctor, lawyer, etc.). As this is a voluntary program, the individual must agree to take part. Priority is given to individuals either at risk or with mental health difficulties but we are not a crisis service. A variety of therapeutic techniques are available.
